GLOOP- 1 cup white glue, 1 cup liquid starch, add a few drops of food coloring. Mix well,
and store in an airtight container

GIANT BUBBLES-  giant 3 tbsp. of glycerin, 1 cup of dish washing detergent, 12 cups of
water, a large tub, a wire coat hanger (bent into a circle for a blower) Mix water, glycerin
and detergent in the tub. Hold the sides of your blower and lay flat in the mixture, lifting it
out slowly. Hold your blower into the wind and watch your giant bubble fly.

MODELING CLAY- 2 ¼ cups flour, 1 cup salt, 1 cup water. Knead the dough. This dough is
best used rolled out into flat shapes for decorations of all kinds. Bake in the oven at 300
degrees, for about an hour. For molded shapes leave out to dry, but depending on size it
might take more than 24 hours to dry.

COLORED SAND- salt, metal grater, colored chalk, newspaper. Lay out the paper over
your working area, pour salt over the paper. Hold grater over the salt, and rub the chalk
over the finest grate as much as desired. Instant colored sand to glue to pictures, or layer
in jars for paper weights or candles.

PASTE- 1 cup flour, 3 cups water. Mix and store in an air tight container.

SQUISH- 2 cups soap flakes, ¼ cup water. Place in a large bowl. Add water; squeeze
together until mixture is damp and squishy. When it sticks together it is ready to sculpt. Do
not make ahead of time. Your figure will become hard when refrigerated for several hours.
Makes great homemade soap.

SPARKLE CLAY- 2 cups salt, 2/3 cup water, 1 cup cornstarch, ½ cup cold water. Mix salt
and 2/3 cup water in sauce pan. Over low heat stir until heated (3-4 minutes). Remove from
heat. Immediately mix cornstarch and ¼ cup cold water. Add this to the hot mixture. Stir to
combine. If mixture does not thicken, place pan over heat again and stir hard about 1
minute, it should be like stiff dough. When cooled it is ready to be shaped. To dry figures,
preheat oven to 350 degrees, turn off oven and place figures on wire racks. Leave in oven,
door closed, until oven has cooled. This clay can be stored in air-tight container until
shaped and baked.

SHINY PAINT- ¼ cup white glue, ¼ cup liquid tempera paint. Mix and store in air-tight
container. This paint has a shiny surface when it dries, great for finishing projects made of
clay.
SALT PAINT- 2 tsp salt (or sand or bird gravel), 1 tsp liquid starch, 1 tsp water, a few drops
of tempera paint. Mix together in small bowl, store in airtight container.

TEXTURED FINGER PAINT- 1 cup powered detergent, ½ cup liquid starch, food coloring,
tempera, or water paint. Mix detergent and starch together until soft and damp throughout.
Add enough food coloring or paint to get desired shade.
