Scriptural References concerning                                                                                   
Counsel of Parents to:
1 Kin. 2:3  Observe the requirements of the LORD your God and follow all his ways. Keep
each of the laws, commands, regulations, and stipulations written in the law of Moses so that
you will be successful in all you do and wherever you go.

Specific Commands to Parents on the Instruction of Children:

Ex. 13:8–10, 8 “During these festival days each year,
you must explain to your children why
you are celebrating.
Say to them, ‘This is a celebration of what the LORD did for us when we
left Egypt.’ Deut. 4:9, 10;  “But watch out! Be very careful never to forget what you have seen
the LORD do for you. Do not let these things escape from your mind as long as you live!
And
be sure to pass them on to your children and grandchildren.
10 Tell them especially about the
day when you stood before the LORD your God at Mount Sinai,* where he told me, ‘Summon
the people before me, and I will instruct them. (the Ten Commandments) That way, they will
learn to fear me as long as they live, and they will be able to teach my laws to their children.’
Deut. 6:6–9;  6
And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands I am
giving you today. 7 Repeat them again and again to your children.
Talk about them when you
are at home and when you are away on a journey, when you are lying down and when you
are getting up again. 8 Tie them to your hands as a reminder, and wear them on your
forehead. 9
Write them on the door posts of your house and on your gates. Deut. 11:19-20
daily discussions.
Deut. 31:11 you must read this law…—so they may listen and learn to fear
the LORD your God and carefully obey all the terms of this law. 13 Do this so that your
children who have not known these laws will hear them and will learn to fear the LORD your
God.  Josh. 8:35; Psa. 34:11; Come, my children, and listen to me, and I will teach you to fear
the LORD. Psa. 78:1–8; Prov. 1:1, 4; Prov. 22:6; Isa. 28:9, 10; Gen. 18:19; I have singled him
out so that
he will direct his sons and their families to keep the way of the LORD and do what
is right and just.
Then I will do for him all that I have promised.” Joel 1:3; Tell your children
about it in the years to come. Pass the awful story down from generation to generation.

You will be able to tell wonderful stories to your children and grandchildren about
the marvelous things I am doing among the Egyptians to prove that I am the LORD.”

Bible, prayer, and service)
I am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, and I was brought up
and educated here in Jerusalem under Gamaliel. At his feet I learned to follow our Jewish laws
and customs very carefully.
I became very zealous to honor God in everything I did, just as all
of you are today.
